Alexander Zverev holds the strongest position among 2026 French Open contenders due to his established clay-court record, including multiple Madrid and Rome titles plus strong movement and sliding technique on the surface. Jannik Sinner’s early exit has opened the draw, boosting Zverev’s implied probability as traders price in his experience and consistent recent form. Joao Fonseca’s momentum stems from his dramatic five-set upset of Novak Djokovic in the third round and prior clay results, positioning the young Brazilian as the primary challenger. Flavio Cobolli, Felix Auger-Aliassime, and Rafael Jodar benefit from the depleted field, while Matteo Berrettini and Jakub Mensik trail amid tougher paths and less proven Grand Slam clay results. The closely contested nature of the remaining bracket keeps multiple outcomes viable.
