Lin Shidong enters the WTT Contender Zagreb men's singles matchup as the clear favorite due to his elite ranking, prior world No. 1 status, and proven consistency in major events such as the Singapore Smash. The Chinese right-hander's strong recent form against top opposition underscores advantages in shot-making, pressure handling, and overall experience. Junsong Chen, a younger prospect ranked well outside the top 30, has posted solid qualifier results and occasional upsets but remains untested at this level, with recent defeats highlighting gaps in reliability. Head-to-head patterns and current form favor Lin, though Chen's aggressive style creates realistic upset potential in a best-of-seven format.
