The 2026 French Open quarterfinal pits 19-year-old Rafael Jodar, who reached his first Grand Slam quarterfinal by rallying from two sets down against Pablo Carreño Busta, against second-seeded Alexander Zverev. Jodar has compiled the most clay wins this season, captured his maiden ATP title in Marrakech, and posted strong results in Barcelona, Madrid, and Rome. Zverev, seeking his first major title after multiple finals, advanced with straight-set efficiency over Jesper de Jong and enters as the tournament favorite following early exits by top rivals. Their first meeting on clay highlights Zverev’s experience and consistency against Jodar’s emerging power, shot-making, and mental resilience in extended matches.
