Iran’s Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi, appointed in August 2024 under President Masoud Pezeshkian, remains actively engaged in diplomacy as of late May 2026. He has conducted recent high-level meetings, including BRICS gatherings in India and talks in Russia and China, while addressing tensions with the United States and Israel over military actions and nuclear issues. No official statements or credible reports indicate plans for his removal, and his role continues amid ongoing regional negotiations and coalition dynamics within Iran’s political system. Cabinet changes in Iran typically require parliamentary approval or presidential directives, factors that traders monitor alongside any shifts in leadership priorities or foreign policy direction.
