Incumbent Democrat Mike Thompson holds a commanding position in the June 2 primary for California's 4th congressional district, which covers Napa, Yolo, Sutter, and portions of surrounding counties. Trader consensus on advancement strongly favors Thompson alongside Democratic challenger Eric Jones, reflecting Thompson's long incumbency, committee roles, and established fundraising edge. Multiple Republican candidates, including Ray Riehle and others, trail significantly. Recent candidate forums have focused on agriculture, tariffs, water policy, and cost-of-living issues, yet no major shifts in positioning have emerged in the final days. The top two finishers advance to the November general election under California's nonpartisan primary system.
