The Lecco mayoral runoff on June 7-8 remains closely contested between incumbent Mauro Gattinoni, backed by a center-left coalition including the Partito Democratico, and center-right challenger Filippo Boscagli of Fratelli d’Italia. First-round results on May 24-25 advanced both candidates after Boscagli secured a narrow plurality, reflecting a divided electorate in this Lombardy provincial capital. Trader consensus on the tight pricing captures the limited separation typical of Italian local runoffs, where incumbency advantages in service delivery and visibility balance against opposition calls for change on issues such as infrastructure and economic development. A public debate scheduled for June 3 offers the final major opportunity for differentiation before voters decide.
