Recent opinion polls for Sweden’s September 2026 Riksdag election show the Social Democrats maintaining a clear lead near 32 percent, leaving Sweden Democrats and the Moderate Party locked in a tight contest for second place. This positioning sustains the current trader consensus around those two parties, as neither has established a sustained advantage in voter surveys conducted through late May. The Moderate-led government’s cooperation with Sweden Democrats under the Tidö framework continues to shape bloc dynamics, while opposition parties focus on consolidating support ahead of the final campaign stretch. Any shift in economic indicators, immigration sentiment, or coalition positioning could separate the contenders before election day.
