Flávio Bolsonaro leads trader consensus for second place in Brazil’s October 4 first-round presidential vote as the Liberal Party nominee endorsed by his ineligible father, Jair Bolsonaro, consolidating right-wing support behind a single standard-bearer. Recent national polls place him consistently behind incumbent Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva but ahead of other contenders, reflecting the Bolsonarist base’s cohesion ahead of the runoff threshold. Renan Santos of the Mission Party has gained ground through social-media outreach and youth appeal, narrowing the gap in some surveys, while governors such as Ronaldo Caiado and Romeu Zema draw narrower regional backing. Lula’s lead as the Workers’ Party candidate seeking a fourth term leaves the identity of the runner-up dependent on how fragmented conservative and centrist votes remain in the final months before official candidacies are confirmed.
